Everyday we do basic facts. This term we are using maths prototec. I like doing basic facts everyday because it gets me much better at recalling them. I do Stage 0 to 10 which is Times and Division. My high score on basic facts now is 68%. Most of the time when I do basic facts my percentage is around in the 60's but some day now I hope I get a better high score than 68%. By the end of the year I want to get 100%.

Brunner Mine Site Visit
On Monday the 18th of March 2019 we went on a school trip to the Brunnertown Mine.
When we got to the mine we did some activities where we split up into groups. For one activity we had to take photos like what happened in the book "The Mine's Afire" which we are reading in class. When we went with the other teacher we went for a walk on the track around the mine site. We noticed some of the mine entrances, the coke ovens, the memorial for the Brunner Mine Disaster and the brickworks.
Here is a photo of us at the mine site.

What's in the News this Week...
The New Zealand police are spending 20.7 million on new body armour. It is lighter and more comfortable. It is able to stop rifle bullets.
I think they should wear the new body amour because I say that it is better and stronger and not like the old ones. They have a dangerous job and need to keep safe.
