Numeracy Week 10 Term 1

This week for numeracy we had to make a video of solving adding problems by making tens and here is my video.

This week for numeracy we did our expanding numbers and place value by Mrs P what we had to do was that we had to put the ten thousands in the ten thousands coliumn and then put them into numbers.

Numeracy.

For numeracy I did my problem solving.  Problem solving is were you have to answer different questions using different ways. This is one of my answers.

this week on Wednesday the hole school and some other schools went down to Anzac park to do athletics. The first thing that the ten year old boys had to do was discus  my throw was a big throw. Then we move on to was a different one were you had to have a buddy and tie your leg to your buddy's leg and go  around a cone and back with out fulling over.

This week in numeracy we have been learning about area and perimeter.  Here is our work. I think that it was easy by measuring things and I felt happy about this work.  />

This week in numeracy I have been learning  fractions of half's and thirds and quarters. like A half  of 4 is 2. I thought it was a bit hard.   I think next time I could  do better on my fractions.

Olympics.

This week we have been learning about the Olympics. We had to choose a Para Olympian I chose Jason Eales he is a para shooter.

Numeracy

In numeracy this week I have been learning about fractions how to make 3 with shapes. If you had 4 shapes you would have to colour 2 shapes to make half.

Writing
This week in writing I wrote a story about a fisherman on a boat. I used the picture to help me write the story. I really liked doing this I hope I do it again.

I also completed my sentence stater work. I had to think of a new way to start every sentence.

Numeracy
In numeracy this week I learnt to add and subtract using tens and ones. I also learnt my number bonds to 10. I enjoyed learning this week.

Week 5 reflection

Reading
I learnt in reading how to 'check for understanding'. This means my buddy  had to ask me what happned and who was in the story

Writing
I learnt how to use conjunctions.conjunctions this is the meaning of conjunctions a word used to connect clauses or sentences or to coordinate words in the same clause I found this pretty  easy to do this task

Numeracy

This week in numeracy I learnt  to subtract using tens and ones  using rods to help me  answer questions. I found this very  hard.   I need to practice this at home.

Reflection T2W4

Numeracy
In numeracy I have been learning how to add and subtract using a hundred square. I thought it was easy to add on but trickier to subtract. I also worked on doubling and halving I really enjoyed it because I could make a video of myself recording what I knew.

Literacy

This week I have been learning how to write an article for a newspaper. We read newspapers and highlight who, what, where, when and why. We then wrote an article it was really fun.

In literacy I have been also been learning how to write great sentences with Miss Panther they were a little tricky to do

Reflections T2W3

In numeracy I am learning to add and subtract using tens and ones. I thought this was tricky but it was easy when we used the ten rods.

In literacy we were retelling Charlotte's web using our favourite character. My favourite  is Charlotte  the spider.

In numeracy I have been learning about number patterns in numbers 7, 8, 9. It was fun jumping the frogs in and out of the pond.
